John Sayer, Board Member
John is the Director General of Oxfam Hong Kong and one of Prosperity’s Founding Board Members. John was a farmer in Wales before moving to Asia in 1976 where he worked on rural development projects in India before settling in Hong Kong. He joined the Asia Monitor Resource Centre (AMRC) in 1977 to research the impact of foreign economic involvement on Asian economies and workers. As Executive Director of AMRC, he worked with trade unions and NGOs on research and information systems, computer communications and occupational health and safety. In 1991, he joined Oxfam Hong Kong as Programme Director and later became Executive Director, working on relief and development in Asia and Africa. In 2001, he moved to Oxford to take up the post of interim Executive Director of Oxfam International. His subsequent role involved consultancy for Oxfam on relations between NGOs and the private sector, and he completed a Masters degree on the same subject. In 2004, he became Director of Africa Now, an Oxford-based development agency working on market-based solutions for small-scale producers in Africa. In 2006, he rejoined Oxfam Hong Kong as Director General.

Dr. John Marsh, Executive Director and Board Member As co-founder and Executive Director of Prosperity Initiative, John is a Board Member and heads the Executive Team. His experience includes more than 20 years spanning the public, private and, more recently, the development sectors. John came to Viet Nam in 2005 as Oxfam Hong Kong’s Country Representative for Lao PDR and Viet Nam. In that role, he partnered with the International Finance Corporation (IFC) to develop and lead the Oxfam-IFC bamboo collaboration that would eventually become Prosperity Initiative’s Mekong Bamboo programme.
John has worked in 16 countries as an independent consultant, Country Director for NGOs, agricultural/environmental engineer and market specialist. John holds a PhD in Natural Resource Planning as well as M.S. degrees in Development Economics and Environmental Management and a B.A. in Engineering.

Duncan White, Acting Finance Director, Board Member and UK Representative
Duncan advises Prosperity Initiative in the areas of business development and SME financing. Duncan was a member of the senior management team of Twin and Twin Trading for 10 years until 2007. He was part of the team that set up Divine Chocolate, then launched and directed AgroFair UK, the Fairtrade fruit company and, more recently, led the successful launch of Liberation Foods CIC, the 100% Fairtrade small farmer owned nut company. Duncan also worked overseas with VSO and Christian Aid in Zimbabwe and Sierra Leone. A trained chartered accountant, Duncan is from the UK and holds a B.Sc in Mathematics.

Albert Tucker, Board Member
Albert is a leading figure in the Fairtrade movement, community regeneration and sustainable development, and a trusted advocate for poor small-scale farmers in global trade and policy. He has had a strong track record with leading charitable development funders in the UK, in particular City Parochial Foundation, Comic Relief and more recently BIG Lottery. He also has strong media experience as well as over 20 years experience of Senior Management roles in the public and private sector.
