Prosperity Initiative is a new organisation with clear values and vision. We work with others who share the vision of the power of markets to target poverty. The following principles guide our thinking and actions:We are people and relationship focused. Change only happens through people and organisations working hard to turn inspiration and ideas into tangible outcomes. Our achievement will be both limited and enabled by our abilities to (i) create a shared compelling vision of the potential for change and (ii) support others to deliver the vision. We will build success incrementally. We understand that lasting large-scale impact on poverty will not be achieved overnight, and part of our advocacy mission is to shift development agendas away from a short-term outlook. Our strategic approach is best described as a tactical and step-by-step approach towards a clear, ambitious vision of success. We act strategically on short time lines, adapting to opportunity and risk. We respond to market realities. To support others, we must have a pragmatic, opportunistic and informed risk taking approach to all facets of our work from practice development to programme delivery and organisation building. We are evidence based and performance oriented. We will justify our programming decisions by an evidence-based case for poverty impact potential and account for our resources based on the poverty impact achieved. |
