Prosperity Initiative Board Grows to 5 Members |
|
Prosperity Initiative is pleased to announce the addition of two new members to its Board. Albert Tucker and Duncan White have joined John Marsh, John Sayer and Nigel Smith to expand the Board from three to five members, with a majority of non-executive board members.
Tucker was previously a member of Prosperity Initiative's Corporate Advisory Group. He is a leading figure in the Fairtrade movement, community regeneration and sustainable development, and a trusted advocate for poor small-scale farmers in global trade and policy. He has had a strong track record with leading charitable development funders in the UK, in particular City Parochial Foundation, Comic Relief and more recently BIG Lottery. He also has strong media experience as well as over 20 years experience of Senior Management roles in the public and private sector.
White was also a member of Prosperity Initiative's Corporate Advisory Group and its UK Representative. He has been advising Prosperity Initiative in the areas of business development and SME financing for almost a year. Previously, White was a member of the senior management team of Twin and Twin Trading for 10 years until 2007. He was part of the team that set up Divine Chocolate, then launched and directed AgroFair UK, the Fairtrade fruit company and, more recently, led the successful launch of Liberation Foods CIC, the 100% Fairtrade small farmer owned nut company.
With the addition of Tucker and White, the Board now has a majority of non Executive Directors. They will support executive management and the development of Prosperity Initiative's strategy. The Non-executive directors will lead Prosperity Initiative's planned organisational review in Q1 2009 as it moves into its second year of operation.
